The six-time All-Star did not look good before the start of the third quarter.

He was doing his best to try to give it a go before the start of the third quarter, but it was too much for Mitchell to handle.

The Pacers will go up 3-1 in the series after a dominant second quarter. They handled business the rest of the way despite their young guard, Bennedict Mathurin, being ejected in the first quarter after an altercation with Cavaliers forward De’Andre Hunter.

Mitchell only played 20 minutes in the contest, where he recorded 12 points on a poor 3-of-11 shooting from the field, one rebound and zero assists. The 28-year-old has been stellar all playoffs long, but especially this series in the first three games. Before Game 4, Mitchell averaged 41.3 points per game, 6.0 assists, 6.3 rebounds and 2.0 steals while shooting 47.2 percent from the field and 22.6 percent from three in 35.7 minutes of action.

The Cavaliers now have a tough road to come back from down 3-1. The last time they did so was in the 2016 NBA Finals when the Cavaliers were down 3-1 against the 73-9 Golden State Warriors. It was one of the more improbable and stunning comebacks in all of sports.

While the Cavaliers have a puncher’s chance, they may have to do it without their star guard for the rest of the way. Cleveland has dealt with injuries thus far in this playoff as they’ve had to play games without Darius Garland, Evan Mobley, and De’Andre Hunter.

Mitchell has been great for the Cavaliers thus far, averaging 31.3 points per game, 4.6 rebounds, 4.9 assists and 1.7 steals while shooting 47.5 percent from the field and 34.8 percent from beyond the arc in 32.9 minutes.

His status for the rest of the series is unclear.
