Warriors-Rockets Game 7: Steph Curry Injury Status Revealed

The Golden State Warriors and Houston Rockets are set to square off tonight in a win-or-go-home Game 7 contest. Houston has been able to stave off elimination in each of the last two games, earning this final game being played at home.

This series has been extremely exciting, with the two teams getting very chippy at different times. Both sides have instigators on the roster, giving the matchup just a little more excitement than most would have.

But entering this final game, the Warriors do have a few players listed on the injury report. The biggest name is star guard Stephen Curry, who has been dealing with a right thumb issue.

Despite the former league MVP being named on the injury report, Curry has been listed as available for the contest. Guard Gary Payton II is also listed as available, giving the Warriors a fairly clean injury report heading into the matchup.

With Curry healthy, it gives the Warriors a good chance to win this game. The two sides are vastly different in terms of experience entering this contest, with Golden State holding an edge.

Players can tense up in Game 7s at times due to overthinking in not wanting to make a mistake. Experience tends to make a big difference at times, so the Warriors will be looking to previous games to help them survive.

But Houston won’t go down without a fight, even if they are a very young team. The Rockets were the No. 2 seed in the Western Conference for a reason, and they will be looking to prove that the regular season was no fluke.

The Rockets started playing more of a zone defense in Game 6, limiting the explosive tendencies of the Warriors’ offensive attack. Houston will likely try to go back to this style of defense in Game 7, even just to start the game off.

The winner of this game will be taking on the Minnesota Timberwolves in the next round. If the Rockets win, they will have home-court advantage, but if Golden State wins, they will be heading to Minneapolis for Game 1 of the second round.
