Russell Wilson Present for Free Agent’s Visit With Giants

For the third straight season, Russell Wilson finds himself on a new team. Though his future with the New York Giants is uncertain, it isn’t stopping him from helping the organization make roster upgrades.

Though he isn’t the superstar talent he once was, Wilson is still a former Super Bowl winner and a notable name in the league. Knowing this, he seems to be putting forth the effort to add more weapons around him in 2025.

Last week, free agent wide receiver Gabe Davis made an appearance on the Up & Adams show. Among the topics they talked about was his recent visit with the Giants. Davis opened up on getting to meet numerous members of the organization, but one of the big things for him was Wilson having dinner with him.

“It was awesome,” Davis said of his visit with the Giants. “Going out to New York and seeing those guys and talk with them. Russ came to dinner, that was dope. Having Russell Wilson there that was pretty sick. He’s a legend”

When asked about the idea of catching passes from Wilson this year, Davis didn’t shy away from it being something he’s giving a lot of thought to.

“That’s me and Russ’ game for sure,” Davis continued. “Definitely deep ball threat and Russ knows how to sling it downfield. Something that I’ve looked into for sure.”

Davis, 26, spent the first four years of his career with the Buffalo Bills. He had a lot of success playing with an elite-level QB in Josh Allen, notching at least seven touchdowns in three different seasons. Davis decided to hit the open market last offseason, eventually winding up on the Jacksonville Jaguars. His production took a massive dip, resulting in the front office cutting ties with him.

Though he had a lackluster showing last season, Davis could still be an interesting target for the Giants. He proved in Buffalo that he can be an effective weapon when paired with the right QB. Based on his comments about Wilson, it looks like he views him as someone he could thrive alongside.

While it appears that Davis had a successful visit with the Giants, only time will tell if it results in him joining Malik Nabers and Darius Slayton in New York’s receiver corps.
