Dave Coulier Shares Health Update on ‘Cancer Journey’

Dave Coulier has spoken out further about his “cancer journey” with Newsweek after revealing he’s cancer-free.

The Full House and Fuller House actor’s representative first confirmed he was free of the disease with People. The 65-year-old was diagnosed with stage 3 non-Hodgkin lymphoma last year.

In an email to Newsweek, Coulier—who starred as Joey Gladstone on the hit shows— said he’s “become very aware of the ingredients, chemicals and materials that are in our foods, clothing and products that are available to consumers.”

“I’ve established a startup company called AWEAR that is currently designing an entire line of all natural and sustainable clothing, foods and personal hygiene products to begin distribution some time in 2025,” he added.

“I’ve also been appointed to be an ambassador for the V Foundation for cancer research and Hockey Fights Cancer. I will continue to encourage others to check in with doctors to get early screenings like breast exams, colonoscopies and prostate exams.”

On Monday, Coulier’s Full House and Fuller House costar Candace Cameron Bure took to Instagram and X, formerly Twitter, to speak out about the news.

“DAVE IS CANCER FREE!!!! Join me in celebrating this AMAZING news — let’s shower him with all the love in the world! ❤️❤️❤️,” she wrote, alongside several photos with the comedian.

At the time of publication, her X post racked up over one million views, 58,000 likes and 1,500 comments. Meanwhile, Bure’s Instagram note had over 295,000 likes and more than 7,100 comments.

“Love you so much, poopoo❤️,” Coulier replied to her Instagram.

Kelly Rizzo, the widow of late Full House actor Bob Saget, also responded.

“I knew we would get this good news soon!! We all love you so much, Dave! I know Bob is smiling down big 🥹🥹🥹❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️,” she wrote via Instagram while tagging Coulier and his wife, Melissa Coulier (née Bring).

Saget was found dead at the Ritz Carlton hotel in Orlando, Florida in January 2022 at the age of 65 following a stand-up comedy performance the night before. His cause of death was blunt head trauma sustained from an unwitnessed fall, and the manner of death was an accident.

In an interview with Parade, which was published on Monday, Coulier said Saget “comes to me in my dreams.”

“I miss Bob so much. I truly had a brother [in him],” he told the outlet.

The Full House Rewind podcast host added that he sometimes picks up the phone to call him.

“I’ll be having a moment of clarity, and I’ll think, ‘Oh, call Bob,’ and then I realize I can’t. And then I realize I can’t call anybody and tell them this thought that I have right now because Bob is the only one who would think so outrageously to be able to respond to it.”

Coulier first spoke out about his cancer diagnosis on the TODAY show in November.

“You hear chemo, and it scares the daylights out of you,” he told host Hoda Kotb. “The first round was pretty intense because you don’t know what to expect. You don’t know how you’re going to feel. Is this going to hit me immediately? Is it going to be devastating? Am I going to walk out of here?”

Now, Coulier told Parade he’s “feeling pretty darn good” and credited his wife and his Full House family for getting him through the difficult times, noting that his costar John Stamos FaceTimed him nearly every day to check in.

The Fuller House alum shared their recent conversation via Instagram and said he “got the best news last night”—that his “dear friend” had “beaten cancer.”

“Love you, my brother,” Coulier commented on Stamos’ video, which had 984,000 views and 97,000 likes. “Thank you for being there every step of the way through this extremely tough journey. ❤️”
