Baylor beat No. 8 seed Mississippi State 75-72 in the first round, with four of the team’s five starters scoring in double figures. Robert Wright III led the way with 19 points while Norchad Omier recorded a double-double, putting up 12 points while pulling down 10 rebounds. The Bears are now 20-14 on the year.
Duke moved to 32-3 with a 93-49 win over Mount St. Mary’s, controlling the entire game and leading 54-28 at the half. Tyrese Proctor led the team in scoring with 19 points while Cooper Flagg put up 14 points and added seven rebounds, four assists, and two blocks.
