The now-famous “Paddock Cat” has a name after taking over the Azerbaijan Grand Prix weekend.
During the early parts of the race weekend, drivers and team personnel were seen taking pictures alongside stray cats.
The city is full of strays, and they apparently made their way onto the paddock, though there was one cat that truly stole the show.
A gray-haired cat with black stripes became a star, despite being removed multiple times from the event.

After fans chimed in with name suggestions, the feline was named “Furrari”.

Furrari featured prominently on social media, with multiple teams taking advantage of his curious nature and capturing a moment with the cat.
Williams driver Alex Albon’s mother offered to adopt the cat, wanting to have the cat home for her and her daughters.
“Hi. If you go and find Alex at @williamsracing, you can ask if he can give you a lift. Plz tell him that Mummy & the big sisters say you can come and live with us at home,” she posted on the Instagram account, @albon_pets.
Furrari was far from the only cat to feature on social media over the weekend. Many F1 fans who were around for the race took pictures with multiple cats.
Hard to blame the cats for wanting to catch a race by sneaking in, especially with the rising ticket prices.
Charles Leclerc’s Run-In with a Black Cat
Back in 2023, Leclerc was preparing to restart the sprint race at Baku when all of a sudden he saw a black cat on the track.
The driver said there was a “cat,” though it sounded like he said “cut,” relating to a potential power unit issue.

Ferrari and Leclerc have a long history of unforunate engine developments, which prompted concern, though the Monagasque driver clarified during the post-race press conference.
“Absolutely not. I said a cat, which is different!” Leclerc said.
“There was a cat in the middle of the road, and the Safety Car had to stop, but I think I was probably the only one who saw that.
“But yeah, out of Turn 1 there was a cat and the Safety Car braked. It wasn’t too bad, but I felt like I had to say it!”
