Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem announced Tuesday that the U.S.-Mexico border wall is being painted black in an attempt to make it more difficult for migrants to climb.

The request had come directly from President Donald Trump, Noem added during a press conference held at the wall on Tuesday.

“That is specifically at the request of the president,” she said. “When something is painted black, it gets even warmer, making it even harder for people to climb.”

She added that other new determents such as “technology, cameras, sensors” were also being added.
