The Los Angeles Dodgers will welcome the division rival San Francisco Giants to Dodger Stadium for a three-game series that starts on Friday and fans are curious about how a citywide change might impact their experience.
As the city sees a surge in protests over federal immigration enforcement raids, Los Angeles mayor Karen Bass recently imposed an 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. curfew in the downtown area that is expected to last several days. Though the Dodgers’ home stadium falls outside of that designated curfew area, many fans could be returning from the rivalry series games to downtown’s Union Station within the restricted hours.
Despite the curfew, the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority announced that normal bus and rail service would continue in the downtown area.

“The Dodger Stadium Express is scheduled to operate normally this weekend, even as the bus departs from and arrives at an area subject to curfew restrictions,” Bill Shaikin reported for the Los Angeles Times. “The service, which provides fans a free ride between Union Station and Dodger Stadium, ‘will be running per usual,’ Metro senior director of communications Missy Colman said.”
Though the transportation authority expects services to and from the stadium to remain uninterrupted, it’s possible the team will impose some changes as protests continue. However, the Dodgers didn’t respond to a message from Shaikin asking about that possibility.
As Los Angeles looks to ensure the safety of its residents in a tense period, it seems Dodgers fans can plan to take in the upcoming games as normal.
