A pivotal Game 3 in the second round of the NBA playoffs takes place on Saturday as the Boston Celtics, down two games to zero, head to the Big Apple trying to avoid going down three to zero, a hole no NBA team has ever crawled out of in league history.

Despite playing both games in Boston, the Celtics find themselves down two games to zero in the series. In both games, Boston blew a lead to fall into a very precarious position, needing to win a game, if not two, in front of what promises to be a hostile New York crowd. New York took Game 2 in Boston 91-90 behind 23 points and six rebounds by Josh Hart, and 21 points and 17 rebounds by Karl-Anthony Towns.

Derrick White and Jaylen combined for 40 points, and Boston still couldn’t hold onto its big lead in Game 2, and now is close to facing elimination in the second round of the playoffs as reigning champions. Jayson Tatum had an uncharacteristically poor outing in Game 2, scoring just 13 points, though he did chip in with 14 rebounds and five assists. White himself also added nine rebounds and five assists.
