2025 NFL Draft: Identifying Jaguars’ Best And Worst Pick From 2025 NFL Draft

The 2025 NFL Draft came to an end on Saturday afternoon, as the final round wrapped up.

The Jacksonville Jaguars had an interesting weekend. The team started off hot by pulling off a blockbuster trade to land the No. 2 pick in the first round. With that pick, the team added two-way star Travis Hunter, who could immediately contribute on both sides of the ball.

The Jaguars didn’t pick again until No. 88 in the third round. With that pick, the team added talented cornerback Caleb Ransaw out of Tulane. Ransaw could challenge for a starting spot thanks to his elite speed and physicality.

Fellow third-round pick Wyatt Milum was another intriguing selection. The West Virginia pick excelled at tackle in college, but will likely move to guard and provide some depth in Jacksonville.

After the third round, the most interesting picks the team made were running back Bhayshul Tuten and linebacker Jack Kiser. Both of those players produced in college and play positions the Jaguars aren’t particularly strong at.

Now, let’s identify the best and worst pick the team made during the draft.

Best: Round 1, Pick 2- Travis Hunter, WR/CB, Colorado

The best pick is easy to identify here. The best pick is the selection of Travis Hunter, who could be an elite player on both sides of the ball.

The team did give up their 2026 first-round pick for Hunter, but technically Hunter plays two positions at an elite level, so that can make the team feel better about giving up the draft capital.

Hunter won the Heisman Trophy in 2024 after catching 96 passes for 1,258 yards and 15 touchdowns on offense, while collecting 36 tackles and four interceptions on defense.

The Jaguars could use help at wide receiver and corner, so this is a perfect fit. Hunter combined with Brian Thomas Jr. will likely give the Jaguars one of the league’s best receiver duos, and the secondary is instantly better as well.

Worst: Round 6, Pick 194- Jalen McLeod, LB, Auburn

This pick doesn’t make a ton of sense. The Jaguars pick before this was Jack Kiser, who’s also an off-ball linebacker.

Before the draft, the team already had Devin Lloyd, Foye Oluokun, Chad Muma, and Ventrell Miller on the roster at linebacker. That’s a solid group, and it seems strange to use two consecutive picks at the position.

The Jaguars needed to add a defensive lineman, and they chose not to. Aeneas Peebles was still on the board when the team took McLeod, and Peebles could’ve been a steal in the sixth-round at a position of need.
