4 Prospects Buffalo Bills Should Avoid With No. 30 Pick In 2025 NFL Draft

The Buffalo Bills have the distinction of owning one of the most talented rosters in the NFL.

However, the team suffered another disappointing end to their season in 2024, falling to the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Championship Game. Thus, the team entered the 2025 offseason looking to retool and go even further in 2025.

In free agency, the team added some quality players like edge-rusher Joey Bosa, wide receiver Joshua Palmer, and defensive lineman Larry Ogunjobi, among others.

The team owns the No. 30 pick in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft and there appears to be several directions the team could go with this pick. Today, though, we’re going to identify the players who the team should avoid with this top pick.

Luther Burden III, WR, Missouri

The Buffalo Bills definitely need to improve their wide receiver room. The team did add Joshua Palmer, and that will help, but Josh Allen needs another reliable weapon or two.

Thus, it could be intriguing to take receiver Luther Burden III in the first round. The Missouri product is a solid route-runner with sure hands, but there are some off-field concerns that could scare teams away.

The Bills are a team that is competing for a championship. Taking a player with the potential to cause problems is not what this team needs right now. Plus, it would likely be better to use this pick on defense anyway.

Kenneth Grant, DL, Michigan

One of the most common mock draft selections for the Bills is Michigan defensive lineman Kenneth Grant.

Don’t get it twisted, Grant is a solid prospect who could be an immediate contributor in the NFL. However, Grant’s fit in Buffalo seems a little strange on paper.

Grant would be best-used as a true nose tackle, which wouldn’t align with the Bills’ base 4-3 defense. Grant is a run-stuffing, space-eater, while the Bills really need a more versatile defensive lineman with more pass-rushing chops.

Benjamin Morrison, CB, Notre Dame

As mentioned above, the Bills should probably use this first pick on a defender.

However, Benjamin Morrison wouldn’t be the best fit. Morrison is coming off a serious hip injury that limited the corner to just six games in 2024. A hip injury is scary for a corner who relies so much on quick-twitch motion and speed.

Morrison’s play also took a step back in 2024. The corner collected zero interceptions in his abbreviated 2024 season after landing six in 2022 and three in 2023. There will be better corner options available when the Bills pick.

Shavon Revel, CB, East Carolina

Like Morrison, Shavon Revel is an impressive cornerback who dealt with a serious injury in 2024.

Revel is extremely talented, but the Bills need a corner who can step in and be good to go from the beginning of the season. Revel’s injury and the fact that he didn’t play against the best competition in college could scare some teams away from investing a first-round pick.

If the Bills want a corner in the first round, a player like Trey Amos would be much less risky than Morrison or Revel.
