White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt responded to a question on Tuesday about the AI-generated images of President Donald Trump, Vice President JD Vance and Elon Musk working in factories that recently went viral on Chinese and American social media sites.
The trend, prompted by the rapidly escalating tariff battle between the U.S. and China, was particularly popular on TikTok, where users shared pictures of the pair side-by-side in a manufacturing warehouse in mockery of Trump’s attempt to bring jobs back to the U.S.
When asked if the White House has a response to the videos, Leavitt replied, “I have seen these videos. We’re not sure who made these videos or if we can verify the authenticity. Whoever made these videos doesn’t see the potential of the American worker and the American workforce.
The president believes in the American people, and he knows that we have the best consumer base inand the best workforce in the world, and that’s why he’s so focused on being investments home, shoring up our supply chains and bolstering our manufacturing as well.”
🚨REPORTER: “Last week Chinese officials were posting AI videos on social media sites of Elon, Trump, etc. (it was actually fat Americans) working in factories. Does the White House have a response to this?”
