President Donald Trump accused CBS‘ 60 Minutes of regularly referring to him in a “derogatory and defamatory way” after the latest show, and called for the network to be taken off air.
Writing on Truth Social on Sunday evening, Trump said he had just watched 60 Minutes and called its reports on Ukraine and Greenland “two separate but highly inaccurate stories” about him.
He also repeated his criticism of its handling of an interview with Kamala Harris prior to the election when she was the Democratic nominee, accusing the network of cutting a poorly answered question to make her look better.
“They are not a ‘News Show,’ but a dishonest Political Operative simply disguised as ‘News,’ and must be responsible for what they have done, and are doing,” Trump wrote.
“They should lose their license! Hopefully, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), as headed by its Highly Respected Chairman, Brendan Carr, will impose the maximum fines and punishment, which is substantial, for their unlawful and illegal behavior.
“CBS is out of control, at levels never seen before, and they should pay a big price for this.”
