Bucks Injury Report: Giannis Antetokounmpo Status Revealed Against Pelicans

The Milwaukee Bucks will look to continue their win streak on Sunday when they take on the New Orleans Pelicans for the second and final time of the regular season.

The Bucks will look to secure their 44th win of the season and extend their winning streak to four games. As for the Pelicans, this season has been a disaster, comprised of injuries and poor play from the start.

The Pelicans are not fully healthy for this game and the rest of the season. The same could be said for the Bucks, who will be without their superstar forward, Giannis Antetokounmpo.

Antetokounmpo, who entered Sunday’s game listed as questionable due to a shoulder injury, has been downgraded to out. He will miss his 14th game of the season.

The 30-year-old is coming off a triple-double for the second game in a row. With Antetokounmpo out, the Bucks will look to turn to the likes of Kyle Kuzma, Taurean Prince, and Chris Livingston to help pick up the slack.

The Greek Freak is coming off a stellar performance on Saturday against the Miami Heat. In the overtime win, Antetokounmpo recorded 36 points, which led the team, along with 15 rebounds, 10 assists, and one block in 43 minutes of action.

In the season, Antetokounmpo has been playing like an MVP, averaging 30.5 points per game, 11.9 rebounds, 6.3 assists, and 1.2 blocks while shooting 60.2 percent from the field in 64 games and 34.2 minutes of action.

The Bucks enter this match as heavy road favorites with a -6.5 spread. Although the Bucks have not been as strong on the road, the oddsmakers love their chance of coming out on top.

This has to do with the Pelicans’ array of injuries and poor home record, which is 14-21 in front of their fans. However, the Bucks aren’t strong on the road, as they have an 18-20 record.

Both teams have not played as well in their last 10 games. Milwaukee sits with a mediocre 5-5 record, while New Orleans sits with a 3-7 record. In the span for the Bucks, they are averaging 115.9 points, 37.6 rebounds, 25.7 assists, 6.9 steals, and 3.7 blocks per game while shooting 51.3 percent from the field.

The Bucks are surrendering 114.8 points in that span.

Antetokounmpo will be missed in this contest. He does everything for the Bucks, which makes them such a threat in the postseason.
