Democratic-backed judge Susan Crawford took aim at Elon Musk after she was projected to have won a fiercely contested Wisconsin Supreme Court election on Tuesday.
The Associated Press called the race for Crawford at 10:16 p.m. ET on Tuesday.
With 91 percent of the vote counted Crawford led conservative rival Brad Schimel by 54 percent to 45 percent, according to CBS News.
Speaking to supporters in Madison, Wisconsin, Crawford said: “I’ve got to tell you, as a little girl growing up in Chippewa Falls, I never could have imagined that I’d be taking on the richest man in the world…for justice in Wisconsin. And we won!”

Crawford said she had received a call from Schimel, who groups affiliated with Musk backed with around $25 million in spending, conceding the race.
Crawford’s victory gives liberal leaning Justices a 4-3 lead on the Wisconsin Supreme Court, which could impact a range of issues including abortion rights and election rules ahead of the 2028 presidential election.
