On Monday, a U.S. judge halted the Trump administration’s attempt to revoke deportation protections for certain Venezuelan immigrants.
The ruling came in a case filed by the National TPS Alliance, an immigrant advocacy group. U.S. District Judge Edward Chen, based in San Francisco, issued a pause on Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem‘s decision to end Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for hundreds of thousands of Venezuelans.
TPS is granted to individuals from countries facing natural disasters, armed conflicts, or other extraordinary circumstances.
