The Boston Celtics are in the midst of their six-game West Coast road trip on Wednesday when they take on the Phoenix Suns.

The Celtics will travel to the Valley of the Sun for the first and only time of the season. Wednesday’s match is Boston’s first against the Suns, and they would love to build on their hot brand of basketball as of late. The Celtics will look to seek their 54th win of the season.

The Suns have had a tough go this season. Nonetheless, they have a shot at securing the No. 10 seed in the Western Conference. The Suns may have found something, as they’ve won four consecutive games and will seek their 36th win of the season. With a win, the Suns will move up to the No. 9 seed.

While that is the case, both teams come in with their respective best players on the injury report. Celtics superstar forward Jayson Tatum and Suns star guard Bradley Beal landed on their respective injury reports.

Tatum was upgraded to questionable hours before the game. However, he has been downgraded to out and will miss the game against the Suns. This will be his seventh missed game of the season.

The last time Tatum was on the court, he recorded 25 points on 53.3 percent shooting from the field, seven rebounds, and eight assists in 26 minutes of action in the win over the Sacramento Kings. However, that was the contest where he suffered his ankle injury.

In the season, Tatum has played phenomenally. He is averaging 27.1 points per game, 8.7 rebounds, 6.0 assists, and 1.1 steals while shooting 45.5 percent from the field and 35.2 percent from three in 66 games and 36.4 minutes.

Beal has been officially ruled out for Wednesday’s matchup. This marks his fifth consecutive absence for the Suns as he continues to recover from a strained left hamstring.

Head coach Mike Budenholzer provided an update on Tuesday, stating that Beal has been making progress and increasing his on-court workload, but he remains day-to-day. In his absence, Phoenix will likely lean on Ryan Dunn and Tyus Jones to help fill the void.

Although the Celtics are the road team, they are heavy favorites with a -6.5 spread.
