Jennifer Lopez hit the red carpet with Emme, one of her 17-year-old twins, in a rare public appearance with her child.

On Sunday, March 23, the pair posed for photos at the Broadway premiere of Othello, held at the Barrymore Theatre in New York City. The 15-week run of the Shakespearean play stars Denzel Washington and Jake Gyllenhaal. Jamie Lee Curtis, Anna Wintour, Colman Domingo, Samuel L. Jackson, Liev Shreiber and Martha Stewart also attended the star-studded opening.

Lopez, 55, in a faux fur jacket over a sparkly top, took a video for her Instagram Stories during their ride to the big event. “I have the most amazing date for the black-tie premiere of Othello here in New York tonight,” said the “Jenny From the Block” singer, before giggling and panning over to show her child, who waved at the camera. “Super-excited. Here we go.”

Muñiz proved a natural on the red carpet, smiling happily for the cameras, in a grey pinstripe suit accessorized with a tie, glasses and multiple ear piercings. Lopez’s full outfit turned out to be a floor-length skirt with matching embellishments to the abs-baring cropped top. Her hair was pulled back in a severe bun that showed sparkly drop earrings.

The familial resemblance was striking, as the two shared Lopez’s famously diamond-shaped face and wide smile.

Lopez had the twins — Emme and brother Max — with then-husband Marc Anthony, 56, in 2008. (The teenagers have Anthony’s real last name of Muñiz.) The music power couple were married from 2004 to 2014. More recently, Lopez was married to Ben Affleck from July 2023 to January 2025.

Emme and Max also have five half-siblings on their father’s side: 1-year-old Marc Jr. with current wife Nadia Ferreira; sons Ryan, 21, and Cristian, 24, with ex-wife Dayanara Torres; and Arianna, 30, and Chase, 28, with ex-girlfriend Debbie Rosado.
