A dog raised by cats has left internet users in stitches after a video showing his adorable feline habit went viral on TikTok.

Bucky, a shih tzu who lives with his two cat siblings, Jojo and Ralphie, was caught on camera hiding under his owner’s bed along with his brother Jojo, perfectly mimicking the feline’s behavior.

“POV [point of view]: our pup is being raised by cats,” reads layover text in the clip, which has been seen by 955,800 users and liked by 167,300 since it was shared on Friday under the username @buckyandthecats.

While often portrayed as mortal enemies, cats and dogs can not only live together in harmony, they can also become best friends, as shown by a 2020 study published in the journal PLOS ONE.

The study questioned over 1,270 pet owners, and found that over 64 percent of the cats and dogs living together played together, and only 41 percent fought.

Most dogs can be trained to live peacefully with felines, however, according to the American Kennel Club (AKC) some breeds are more suited for living with cats than others.

These include basset hounds; beagles; bulldogs; cavalier king Charles spaniels; collies; golden retrievers; Labrador retrievers; papillons; and pugs.

On the other hand, breeds that the AKC says don’t really match a cat’s energy include terriers; sight-hounds; and members of the herding group. These breeds have a tendency to hunt, chase, and herd, which some cats might find hard to tolerate.

Regardless of your dog and cat’s breed, the main factor that influences their relationship is their introduction.

A Dogster article medically reviewed and fact-checked by Dr. Alice Athow-Frost, suggests that the pets should be kept in separate areas of the house and introduced slowly, first by scent swapping and then by supervised face-to-face sessions.

And online viewers can’t cope with the hilarious clip.

One user, using the handle @world.i.know, commented: “Yep. Just like that, bud. You’re doing great. Next we’ll be going over 3am sounds.”

User Kiana Amari said: “They were having a meeting about [you].”

Meanwhile, user @ButtergodV2 added: “I have a chihuahua that was raised by a cat and now he does this and climbs up onto my shoulder when I’m sitting on the couch lol.”
