‘Wordle’ Today #1,367 Hints, Clues and Answer for Monday, March 17 Game

Wordle, a word-based game, has become a global sensation, though it has surprisingly humble origins. The puzzle was developed during the COVID-19 lockdown by Josh Wardle, a software engineer based in New York, who wanted a game “for me and my partner to enjoy.”

Wardle released Wordle to the general public in October 2021. Since then, it has amassed a loyal following across the English-speaking world. In January 2022, Wardle sold Wordle to The New York Times for an undisclosed seven-figure sum, though it remains free to play.

How to Play Wordle

The trick to conquering the game is to guess the daily five-letter word in six attempts before the answer will be revealed on your screen.

Along the way, a color-coded guide will help you narrow down what the word could be. If a correct letter is in the correct place, the tile will turn green; if it is in the wrong place, it will turn yellow; and if it is not in the word at all, then the tile will turn gray.

The answer to Monday’s puzzle will be revealed at the end of this article, so scroll down with caution if you want to work it out for yourself.

Wordle #1,366, Answer for Monday, March 17

The answer to today’s Wordle puzzle is “lasso.”

Well, that was a fun one! Did you figure it out? If so congratulations, but please don’t be disheartened if not.

One of the best parts of doing Wordle is seeing if you can improve your result over time and Newsweek will be back with another round of hints and tips on Tuesday.

What Does ‘Lasso’ Mean?

The Merriam-Webster dictionary defines “lasso,” when used as a noun as, A rope or long thong of leather with a noose used especially for catching horses and cattle.”

When used as a verb, it’s described as “to catch (an animal, such as a horse or cow) with a lasso.”

This week’s Wordle hint is particularly timely, as it was announced this past weekend that the popular show Ted Lasso has been renewed for a fourth season.
