After a busy summer of moves, the Denver Nuggets continue to experiment around the fringes of their roster.
Nuggets owner Josh Kroenke, dissatisfied with former general manager Calvin Booth and former head coach Michael Malone’s acrimonious relationship, fired both men with just three games remaining in the regular season.

Kroenke initially replaced Booth with Ben Tenzer as an interim GM, while promoting then-assistant coach David Adelman to serve as the club’s interim head coach.
With a shallow roster constructed by Booth — and starting forwards Aaron Gordon and Michael Porter Jr. ailing — Denver failed to make the Western Conference Finals for a second straight season.

But Kroenke liked what he’d seen, ultimately removing the “interim” label from both Tenzer and Adelman. Kroenke also installed former Minnesota Timberwolves director of player personnel Jon Wallace as the team’s co-executive vice president, along with Tenzer.
With this revamped front office and coaching bench in place, Denver set about improving its personnel around three-time league MVP center Nikola Jokic and standout point guard Jamal Murray, who stunningly has yet to make an All-Star team yet to this point.
In their biggest move of the offseason, the Nuggets flipped Porter to the Brooklyn Nets in exchange for combo forward Cam Johnson, a cheaper, better two-way player with less ominous long-term health issues (although he, like Porter, has missed plenty of regular season games). Denver also finally brought in a usable backup center, trading wasted 2024 signing Dario Saric to the Sacramento Kings in exchange for the far more reliable Jonas Valanciunas.
The Nuggets additionally shored up their wing depth by signing free agent guards Tim Hardaway Jr. and Bruce Brown to veteran’s minimum deals, while watching reserve point guard Russell Westbrook decline his player option and walk for nothing. He remains unsigned.
Now, the Nuggets are ditching one of their training camp signings early.
Per the NBA’s player transaction log, Denver has waived guard Dane Goodwin, formerly inked to an Exhibit 10 player deal. Kessler Edwards and Moses Brown remain rostered, for now.
Goodwin, 25, went undrafted out of Notre Dame two seasons ago. The 6-foot-6 swingman has yet to make his NBA debut, having plied his trade for the G League affiliates of the Sacramento Kings and Utah Jazz since 2023.
Now, he’ll likely join Denver’s NBAGL affiliate, the Grand Rapids Gold. Should he stick with the Gold for at least 60 days, he’ll be eligible for an $85,300 bonus.
