A pet parent cleaning her room heard her cat Aloe meowing and what she walked into left her horrified.
TikTok user @nyesimole walked into the bathroom as soon as she heard her cat making noises. She found the cat rubbing his body all in her lace front wig, which just so happened to be covered in bleach. The cat’s once black fur started changing colors. Aloe managed to dye his fur.
Last week, @nyesimole shared an update on Aloe in a TikTok video that currently has over 1.6 million views. The cat’s long, luxurious locks now sported a blonde coloring. His ears had frosted tips. The only thing not bleached was, luckily, his face. Aloe seemed unbothered, happily following his owner around the room as she filmed.
A separate video showed the owner’s walls covered in splotches of bleach, which makes her believe Aloe knocked over the bottle and onto the wig. Being curious, Aloe started rubbing against the wig without realizing the hazards.
Newsweek reached out to @nyesimole via TikTok for additional comment.

Bleach Poisoning
The horrifying situation served as a wake-up call for owners about the dangers of leaving toxic items out in the open for cats and dogs to access.
The short answer to whether bleach is poisonous is yes, but an article from PetMD explains that it can be a bit more complicated, depending on the type of bleach and how much a pet becomes exposed to. Plus, different cat and dog breeds might react differently.
Most household bleaches made without a corrosive agent can cause irritation and will give your pets symptoms that can sometimes be treated at home. But, ultra-concentrated bleaches, often used by professional cleaners and on farms, can leave severe lesions on the skin, down the esophagus and into the stomach. If this is the cause, it can take weeks to months to heal.
Non-chlorine bleach, or color-safe bleach, is dangerous as it contains hydrogen peroxide, causing vomiting and tissue irritation. Blood also might appear.
Symptoms may begin within minutes, which include heavy drooling—especially in cats—and redness on the skin and in or around the mouth.
TikTok Users React
Worried TikTok users flooded the comments section about what happened to Aloe.
“This would actually haunt me for weeks, any small signs of sickness would have me feeling the deepest guilt,” one user wrote.
Others poked fun at the situation, especially hearing that the cat was taken to the vet following the incident and received medication.
A second user commented: “Not he got a balayage.”
A third added: “He just wanted a bleach and tone.”
And a fourth user wrote: “He’s just a custom made tortoiseshell now.”
