The final round of the regular season could be very special for Tommy Fleetwood, as he has another chance to clinch his elusive first PGA Tour victory. At a potentially pivotal moment in his career, the Englishman seems to have a clear focus on what success requires.
After his third-round performance, Fleetwood explained where he hopes to excel during the final day, emphasizing enjoying the moment.
“I’m having the time of my life out there and I’m playing great and I’ve got to enjoy it while it’s happening,” he said, according to the transcripts of his presser. “You never know. Tomorrow might be my time, it might not, but I’ll still have a great time doing it.”

In fact, Fleetwood made a point of mentioning emotional and mental details when describing how he expects his final round to unfold.
“I think it’s all about being very clear with what you’re doing,” he said, according to the transcripts, “having a great attitude, having a great frame of mind, make sure I’m telling myself all the right things and just commit to those things.”
“There’s only 30 players this week. It could be 100, 150, whatever it is tees Sunday and in contention. That’s what everybody wants. I am lucky enough that I get to be one of those guys.”
Tommy Fleetwood Struggles with Weather, Still Posts a Score
Fleetwood carded a first-round 64 to enter title contention and then a 63 to take the lead. Moving day saw him struggle a bit more with the weather, including a double bogey on the 15th hole. He still carded a 67.
“I just think it was never a round that really flowed for me,” he said, according to the transcripts, “but it was difficult. I think it was damp conditions, wasn’t cold by any means but obviously different air and windier, and I just found it a bit more difficult today.”

The Englishman is seeking his first victory on the PGA Tour, where he has 12 top-three finishes. Two of those have come this season: he finished second at the Travelers Championship and third at the FedEx St. Jude Championship, after leading into the final round of both tournaments.
Fleetwood hasn’t won on the PGA Tour, but his consistency has been extraordinary. In 163 starts, he has finished in the top 10 44 times, including 30 top-five finishes. Seven of his top-10 finishes have come in major championships, including two second places and a third.
