Supporters of President Donald Trump have cheered the comments made by Jeffery Epstein’s imprisoned former girlfriend Ghislaine Maxwell in interviews with Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche.

They shared sections from Maxwell’s testimony where she says she never saw Trump engaged in any form of sexual behavior on social media after transcripts of the interviews were released by the Department of Justice on Friday.

Maxwell is serving a 20-year sentence after being convicted of luring girls to be abused by Epstein, and is wanting a pardon from Trump.

Newsweek has contacted Maxwell’s attorney for comment via an email sent outside regular business hours.

The Trump administration’s release of the transcripts comes as the president has faced renewed scrutiny about his friendship with Epstein amid the backlash over its refusal to disclose records from Epstein’s sex trafficking case. Trump has said he fell out with Epstein years ago and well before Epstein came under investigation.

The Epstein saga has consumed the administration since the Justice Department and FBI said in a two-page memo in July that Epstein had killed himself despite conspiracy theories to the contrary, that a “client list” that Attorney General Pam Bondi had suggested was on her desk did not actually exist, and that no additional records from the investigation would be made public. The decision outraged many of Trump’s supporters and conspiracy theorists who believe the files will reveal a cover-up in the case to protect Epstein’s wealthy and powerful friends. Epstein was found dead in a New York jail cell in 2019 while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges in what authorities have ruled a suicide.

Maxwell told Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche that she “never saw the President in any type of massage setting,” according to the transcript.

“I never witnessed the President in any inappropriate setting in any way. The President was never inappropriate with anybody. In the times that I was with him, he was a gentleman in all respects.”

Asked if she ever heard Epstein or anyone else say Trump “had done anything inappropriate with masseuses” or anyone else in their orbit, Maxwell replied: “Absolutely never, in any context.”

Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene, a Georgia Republican, wrote that Maxwell’s testimony had “vindicated” Trump.

“If there had ever been any evidence against Donald Trump in any of the Epstein case files, the Democrats would’ve used it against him long ago,” she wrote on X.

Trump loyalist Laura Loomer, a conservative activist, told Politico that she is hopeful that the release of the transcripts will quell the “nasty, salacious lies and rumors” circulating online about Trump.

She said she believes Maxwell’s testimony proves that Trump “has always been an honorable person.” Newsweek has contacted Loomer for further comment via text message.

Other MAGA influencers also argued that Maxwell’s testimony clears the president.

“If Trump was an Epstein client, the Deep State would’ve already leaked it,” Rogan O’Handley, who is known as “D.C Draino,” wrote on X.

But Democrats have sought to undermine Maxwell’s testimony by pointing to her criminal record and saying her answers show her desire for a pardon.

Representative Robert Garcia, the ranking member on the House Oversight Committee, said Maxwell “is a convicted sex trafficker and known liar” and that her interview “shows she’s desperate for a pardon.”

“I’ll say it again, the Democrats tried to put President Trump in jail for the rest of his life, destroy his business and take his wealth, and multiple assassins tried to kill him. If there had ever been any evidence against Donald Trump in any of the Epstein case files, the Democrats would’ve used it against him long ago. President Trump has been vindicated once again!!!”

Loomer told Politico: “I’m hoping that, you know, these transcripts will quell a lot of the nasty, salacious lies and rumors that were spread by bad actors online who are trying to use Pam Blondie’s shortcomings as a way to attack President Trump.”

D.C Draino wrote on X: “If Trump was an Epstein client, the Deep State would’ve already leaked it. He’s clean. Now release the Epstein Files and let’s arrest the real bad guys.”

Garcia said on X: “Ghislaine Maxwell is a convicted sex trafficker and known liar. Her interview with Trump’s DOJ lawyer shows she’s desperate for a pardon. She claims no involvement in wrongdoing, which is insulting to the girls and young women she victimized and trafficked. She cannot be trusted.”

Representative Yassamin Ansari, an Arizona Democrat, wrote on X: “GHISLAINE MAXWELL IS A CONVICTED CHILD SEX TRAFFICKER TRYING TO GET A PARDON FROM THE MOST CORRUPT PRESIDENT IN AMERICAN HISTORY WHO‘S ALSO A CONVICTED CRIMINAL, BTW.”

What’s Next

The Justice Department on Friday began sending to the House Oversight Committee records from the investigation that the panel says it intends to make public after removing victim’s information.

Maxwell is appealing her conviction before the Supreme Court, and the justices are expected to decide whether to take up the appeal in late September.
