After a slide that saw the Mercury lose five of six games, Phoenix appears to have righted the ship and is back on a two-game winning streak. Their last win was an 82-66 win over the Connecticut Sun, with Satou Sabally scoring 23 points to lead the team. Alyssa Thomas continued her excellent run with a triple-double, scoring 13 points to go with 12 rebounds, 12 assists, and three steals.

Indiana continues to play without star Caitlin Clark, who last played on July 15th, 2025, but had found success nonetheless, having won five in a row before a recent 100-91 loss to the Los Angeles Sparks. Kelsey Mitchell had a fantastic game, scoring 34 points on 11-for-19 from the field (7-for-12 from the 3-point line), while dishing out six assists.

In their first matchup, Indiana pulled out a home victory over the Mercury, 107-101, back on July 30.
