We Are D3, alumni from an NCAA DIII school, will take on the Aftershocks, alumni from Wichita State, on Thursday in Wichita, Kansas, at Charles Koch Arena.

The Aftershocks, the No. 2 seed in their region, have earned their place in the TBT semifinals with back-to-back upset victories. In the third round, they edged out the region’s top seed, Forever Coogs, in a tight battle decided by just three points. They followed that up with another statement win in the quarterfinals, knocking off the tournament’s No. 1 overall seed, Heartfire, by six points in front of their home crowd in Wichita.

Meanwhile, We Are D3 has looked good in each round, but the team has won by less than 10 points in each game. In their last game, they took down Fail Harder by only two points to advance to the semifinals.

The winner of this game will advance to Sunday’s championship game against the winner of the Eberlein Drive and Best Virginia semifinal.

Now in its 12th season, The Basketball Tournament is an open-invitation, single-elimination tournament featuring teams from around the country competing for a $1 million prize. The tournament is unique in that it uses the Elam Ending, a rule that sets a target score near the end of the fourth quarter, with the first team to reach that score winning the game.
