Multiple food safety recalls have been issued this month affecting products sold in Kroger stores across 18 U.S. states.
Customers have been urged to return products that may pose serious health risks due to undeclared allergens and potential bacterial contamination.
Lewis Bake Shop Artisan Style Half Loaf Recall—July 10
On July 10, Hartford Bakery, Inc. issued a voluntary recall out of an abundance of caution of six lots of its “Lewis Bake Shop Artisan Style 1/2 Loaf,” saying the product “may contain undeclared hazelnuts.”
The affected products were sold at Kroger and Walmart locations in Michigan, Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky, Tennessee, Georgia, Arkansas, Missouri, Alabama, and Mississippi.
Each loaf was sold in a 12-ounce plastic bag marked with UPC 24126018152 on the bottom of the packaging. The affected items can be identified by lot codes T10 174010206, T10 174010306, T10 174010406, T10 174020206, T10 174020306, T10 174020406 found on the front panel of packaging, and an expiration date of July 13, 2025.
Customers who have purchased the products “are urged to return them” for a full refund, the company said.

Lewis Bake Shop Artisan Style Half Loaf Recall—July 8
Two days earlier, Kroger urged customers who purchased the 12-ounce loaf with the product code 24126-01815 and an best by date of July 13, 2025, not to consume the product due to the potential presence of hazelnuts.
The recalled bread was sold at Kroger locations in Georgia, South Carolina, Alabama, Ohio, Virginia, Michigan, Indiana, Illinois, Missouri, Kentucky, Tennessee, Arkansas, Mississippi, North Carolina, West Virginia, and Western Pennsylvania.
“The product may contain HAZELNUTS and, if eaten, could result in severe allergic reactions in people sensitive to TREE NUTS. Please return the product to this store for a full refund,” the recall notice said.

Oscar Mayer Turkey Bacon Recall—July 2
Oscar Mayer on July 2 issued a recall for its 12-ounce and 36-ounce Turkey Bacon products due to potential Listeria monocytogenes contamination.
Listeria monocytogenes can cause serious, and in some cases fatal, infections—particularly in pregnant individuals, newborns, older adults, and those with weakened immune systems.
The recall affects Kroger stores in Georgia, South Carolina, Alabama, Ohio, Virginia, Michigan, Indiana, Illinois, Missouri, Kentucky, Tennessee, Arkansas, Mississippi, North Carolina, West Virginia, Texas, and Louisiana.
The recalled 12-ounce packages of Oscar Mayer Turkey Bacon carry the product code 71871-54860 and have use-by dates of July 19, July 20, July 24, August 1, and August 2, 2025. The 36-ounce packages are labeled with product code 71871-54874 and have use-by dates of July 29 and August 31, 2025.
“Please return the product to this store for a full refund,” Kroger said.
