Browns’ Shedeur Sanders Sends Cryptic 3-Word Message Before Training Camp

The Cleveland Browns are entering 2025 training camp with four quarterbacks competing for the starting job. Among those four players is none other than Shedeur Sanders, who has received by far the most media coverage of any Browns player on the roster.

Sanders was a fifth-round pick for Cleveland in the 2025 NFL Draft. After being projected to be a first or second-round pick, his slide was one of the most surprising in recent draft history.

While he is not expected to win the Week 1 starting job, Sanders is trying to work his way onto the field at some point in his rookie year.

He will be competing with Joe Flacco, Kenny Pickett, and fellow rookie Dillon Gabriel. All three quarterbacks are good competition for the former Colorado standout.

With training camp right around the corner, Sanders took to social media to send a cryptic three-word message.

His post read, “time will tell,” and he included the shushing face emoji at the end.

This is seemingly a message to the people who are doubting him. He is simply focused on having long-term success regardless of the immediate outcome. Winning the Week 1 starting job is not the main goal that he has in mind.

On the outside looking in, there is no question that Sanders has the arm talent to be an NFL quarterback. He’ll need to prove that he has what it takes from a mental perspective as well. So far, he has been nothing short of impressive with the Browns.

Being able to learn from a seasoned professional like Flacco is a major positive for Sanders. If he becomes a sponge and learns everything he possibly can from the veteran, it will be a major benefit to his career long-term.

Throughout his college career split between Jackson State and Colorado, Sanders put on a passing clinic. He completed 70.1 percent of his pass attempts for 14,347 yards, 134 touchdowns, and 27 interceptions.

Some write off his impressive numbers as stat padding. They believe that he threw safe passes to avoid throwing interceptions. Others believe that he’s simply that talented.

Only time will tell the true story of what kind of player Sanders can be. He has remained quiet for the most part and has shown off big potential in limited time on the field.

It will be very interesting to see what the upcoming 2025 NFL season has in store for the young signal caller.
