A.J. Brown Raves About Patriots QB Drake Maye

A.J. Brown is entering the next chapter of his NFL career with the New England Patriots.

Brown landed with the Patriots earlier this offseason as part of a blockbuster trade with the Philadelphia Eagles. The trade reunited the superstar wide receiver with his former Tennessee Titans head coach Mike Vrabel, and paired him alongside an up-and-coming quarterback star in Drake Maye.

Brown is thoroughly impressed by what’s he’s seen from Maye so far.

“The talent speaks for itself. You know, he can make any throw,” Brown said of Maye on Thursday. “But I think what’s more impressive to me is he knows what he’s doing. To be that young and to understand the defense, understand every little check. … It’s very impressive.

“I really admire that. He knows what he’s talking about. He demands everyone else to know as well. He’s a true leader. He’s a true leader of men. It’s crazy to see at a young age.”

Maye led the Patriots to the Super Bowl in his second season, ultimately falling to the Seattle Seahawks. Stefon Diggs was the only Patriots pass catcher to top 1,000 receiving yards in 2025, reeling in 85 catches for 1,013 yards.

Brown, a three-time Pro-Bowl WR, gives the young quarterback a big-bodied, deep-ball threat to utilize within the Patriots’ offense.
